P.E. Curriculum
We ensure we cover the three pillars of progression in our curriculum -
Motor competence; Rules, strategies and tactics; Healthy participation, leading to healthy active lifestyles.
- Motor competence can be described as a person’s ability to execute a variety of motor actions, including the coordination of fine and gross motor skills. These are necessary to participate in activities in everyday life, including play and physical activity.
- Building on their movement, pupils need to know rules, strategies and tactics and be able to use them as they participate in sport and physical activity.
- Healthy participation that will lead to healthy, active lives. This also means connecting ideas about health to physical activity and encouraging healthy active lifestyles beyond PE lessons too.
We aim to provide our children knowledge in PE so that they 'know what' the movements, rules, tactics, strategies, health and participation are, as well as and 'knowing how' to implement these, so that they are physically educated.
